Just realized!!!

That I have not posted my huge news!! My granddaughter was born on May 25th, only 5weeks early! She was 4lbs13oz and just as cute as she can be. Nikki named her Bronna Jaelynn. She is the 5th generation of first born daughters in my family to be named Bronna. She came home twodays after she was born. She's a really good baby.

Finally Back In My Room!

I finally had some time to myself today to create 8 cards. I used a very simple template created by fellow CTMH Consultant Dana Kessler. I used one sheet of the Bella B&T paper and 1/2 sheet of Hollyhock CS and 1/2 sheet of Smokey Plum Cardstock. The stamps sets used are Endless Friendship and Botanical Borders.

Mother's Day Projects

Thought I would share a few of the projects I worked on last week for Mother's Day.

Here's a 6x6 card using the Bella paper pack. The template is from the Originals card program. Colors used here are Creme Brulee, Smokey Plum, & Hollyhock. The title is done using the Story Book Cricut cartridge.

Here I altered a simple "journal" book I picked up using Silhouette paper pack and the Baroque alphabet stamp set to make the monogram letter. I made note card sets to go with these books. The template for the cards is a creation of another talented CTMH consultant. Colors used are Black, Cranberry & Bamboo.

This is a card using the Amore paper pack and the Story Book Cricut Cartridge. Colors are Cocoa, Tulip & Blush.

Here's a card using the Tickled Pick paper pack & Stamp Set. Colors used are Hollyhock & Sweetleaf. I also added liquid glass "dots" to the ends of each flower petal

Layout of my parents wedding day

Here I used the Amore paper pack from the Spring 2009 Idea Book. This is also a layout featured in the Worshop on the Go. I like the way it turned out. I have not scrapbooked anything about my parents. This layout really made me start thinking of how much I miss them and how little my children know about their Grandparents. I am commiting myself to scrapbook more about them and my life growing up.

Check out the blog hop!!

The shower favors

Well Saturday was the baby shower for Nikki. I put alot of time into making game gifts, favors and decorations. I'm glad its over. Here's the thinkgs I made. The gift bags I randomed stamped using the Tickled Pink stamp set. I love the set more everytime I use it. The treat bags are a template that you print and cut out, I then used my Cricut and the DoodleCharm cart. to cut the bottle out. The candle holders are dyed using ink. The cande bar wrappers were printed first then I stamped using Welcome Baby and adhered a small strip of DayDream Paper Pack.

Sneak Peek

Here's one of the new stamp sets from the Summer Idea Book. I didn't like this stamp set looking at it at first. I decided to open it and play. This is what I came up with. I used black cardstock and the B&T paper is the Amore pack from the Spring book and I used Tulip cardstock along with black & tulip ink to do the stamping. Let me know what you think, I am my own worst critic.

Stressed!

I have not posted in over a week maybe even two. I have been under an enormous amount of stress. Business is down for our main family business and my Nikk's (dd) baby shower is on Saturday and I have been stressed over that. I have been making the "game gifts". I'll try and get some pics of those today. I haven't been able to buy anything for the baby yet and that makes me feel terrible. Right now paying the bills is more important. We had a nice family Easter. The girls had handmade dresses from their Aunt Sherry, she also made made dresses to match their off brand American Girl dolls.
I was doing some reading about Scrap booking and how we as scrapbookers focus more on our children and people in our family and hardly ever scrap ourselves. This article brought up a good point, if when our children are grown and have children and they have a huge collection of scrapbooks about their lives but hardly have anything in them about their mother, the person who put all this love and time into creating these books. I really thought about this for a while. In my own thoughts I do like to see photos of me when I was growing up but I love to see photos of my Mother who has been gone since 1986. I would treasure a scrapbook about her and her likes, dislikes, hobbies, her family, things she did for us, things she did for her church or friends etc. After thinking about it like that I want to devote some time to scrapbook about me for my girls. I hate having my picture taken and there is only a handful of photos of me in the last 10 years but I don't think it has to be about the photos but about the thoughts, and things I do in my life. This is one more thing I have to add to my plate. LOL What do you think?

Stardust Workshop

This weekend I got the Stardust Workshop done. I really like this paper pack. I got 3-two page layouts and I have 6 full sheets of B&T paper, and 2 full sheets of cardstock and a good size pile of scraps that would be great for cards. These workshops really are helping me get MY scrapbooking done. I'll be teaching this workshop in April.

Letter J

This is a project Nikki & I did to hang over the baby's crib. Its a cheap wooden letter from Hobby Lobby decoupaged with Whoops-A-Daisy paper. Actually this was Nikki's first "art" project. I'm trying to get her hooked!! LOL

Mother's Day Cube

Here's the My Creations Cube all decorated for Mother's Day. The design came from another very talented consultant, I just made a few changes. The cube is 5" square and I left the top unattached to use as a gift box. "Mom" will also be able to put this box to good use storing small things in it. Check out my calendar on my website to check the date of this class.

WOTG

I finally got one of the new workshops done. Its a month behind but thats ok. I was really really impressed once I was done. You get a lot of bang for the buck. Here's a photo of the 3-two page layouts, cards and all the left overs. I just need to develop some photos to use on these.

Nikki

Here's a pic of Nikki, she is in her 5th month! I still don't know what I want to be called by this kid. I just can't get use to Nana or Grandma. Ugh!

Crazy!!

Boy my life has gotten crazy lately. I have had about 3 weeks of sickness in the house. I think we all took a turn. I even had Nikki "move" back in for 4 days while she was sick. I also have been busy with tax stuff for our business. Yuck!! My taxes still aren't finished. I owe so much money that I am going back through the year looking for deductions I may have miss posted in my accounting software. I really miss crafting. I hope to get down to my room this weekend and do something!! I have got to get started on baby shower invitations so time. Work has also been almost non existant. Scott has been home for 2 weeks because we don't have anywork. I am doing really good at not getting scared. I know it will be fine. God never closes one door without opening another or at least leading you to another. I know he is guiding us and looking out for us. It would be nice though if he would hurry the process up. I'll try to get some craft done this weekend and get it posted.

Yeah!

Well we took Nikki (my daughter) to her ultrasound appointment yesterday and she is having a girl! We were all hoping for a boy because of all the girls we have already but girls are great too. Nikki will be passing down our family name also, Bronna. The baby will be the 5th generation. I'm so proud. I wish my Mom and Grandma were still alive to see this but I'm sure they know.
I'll be busy most of today getting ready for Super Bowl tomorrow. We are having our usual "party". I'll be down in the scrap room with any of the ladies who want to join me for a "SuperBowl Scrap" party and yes the guys must share the food! I'll also have the game on down there. I'm pulling for the Steelers and Scott is for the Cardinals.

I have a few layouts I want to finish so I can start on a Mother's Day project I hope to teach for a class if I can "pull" it off myself.
